This is on Netflix not Apple. They enabled it this by accident and reverted it back https://www.theverge.com/news/613307/netflix-apple-tv-app-su...

Wow that is quite anti-consumer! Surely a monopoly on streaming will help them realize this. /s

I dont think its anti consumer, just anti competitive. Why would you allow a direct competitior to show your content on their branded devices and interface to help them become a one stop shop for all streaming services?

Apple should not be allowed to become a streaming front for all other companies.

Yeah true, but also this is a bit like saying the lock screen of your phone should not become a "one stop shop" for all push notifications. I actually do not own an Apple TV but I just imaging you have a list of shows from different streaming providers on the "home screen" (like it is on my PS4). And on a technical level it is just an API you integrate with (same as push notifications), which helps UX.

IMO yes. It is less polished but IMO the model is way better. I moved over from claude completely and cancelled my max subscription. Less polished, slower but the results are better and you have to do less steering

For us it is docker desktop. Developers use mostly Mac and getting everyone to switch to something else takes time for testing, documentation, roll out etc.

Pretty much this - my company doesn't have Linux SOEs so Docker on a Mac means Docker Desktop.

You should talk to your account manager but for non ec2 services we have been successful with exchanges by explicitly asking for an exchange for a similar/larger amount.

We had to buy the new reservations first and would then could cancel the old ones

I have an insurance where you have to submit your reimbursement forms via mail. For some reason this has been quite challenging to me (printer, stamp, envelope etc.) and I didn’t submit things.

A provider pointed me to reimbursify which made it way simpler as you pay per claim and it just mails the reimbursement to the insurance. I think this reimbursify may be also helpful in cases like this if you want to speed run your reimbursement submission :).

Note: I am not affiliated with reimbursify but just a happy customer even though the UX&app are somehow clunky. Still better than the other options.

Sometimes it's actually easier to do this kind of stuff by mail. It's archaic, but most of the inefficiency falls on the other end. Same goes for dealing with banks, IRS, anyone who doesn't have a choice to deal with you (or you with them).

Send them a letter and make them figure out what to do about it. No need to wait on the phone and be transferred around or search through hundreds of menus in a poorly designed app.

Rapid7 | Boston, MA / Austin, TX / US Timezone | Cloud Optimization Manager / Senior Software Engineer Cloud Optimization

Rapid7 is probably most well known for Metasploit but also develops various SaaS security software. All of our SaaS systems are hosted within AWS and we are starting a new team focused on improving the architecture of our software to be more effective and resilient. This is not your typical rightsizing, adding S3 lifecycle rules, managing reservations. This is a team which focuses on hard problems across on our data processing pipelines to make them more efficient.

You will be working across different product teams and collaborating both with engineering teams, finance and leadership to introduce changes and provide visibility.

You should have great Java knowledge and a good understanding of AWS (AWS pricing would be a plus).

AWS provides already free certificates. It doesn’t use ACME but also AWS ACM supports auto renewal if the host name has been dns validated.

Initially these certificates were only supported for load balancer and cloud front but with the Secure Enclave you can use the certificate also on an ec2 instance.

While on GCP, you can self-host cert-manager and its certificates can be used at Load Balancers and VMs.

Income Sharing Agreement. I think they are mostly used by coding boot camps. The idea is to pay a percentage of the salary for a fixed time/amount. It probably depends on the price of the sessions if this makes sense
