Hey HN the emergency alert system is broken. How can we fix this? I see several problems here- 1) its selectively enforced- Comcast and cable providers have to do it while satellite providers do not. 2) its redundant- if I am awake and watching tv I'm pretty sure I am aware that the weather is bad and don't need my cable box to block my screen and annoy me with the worst sound ever invented. 3) it doesn't provide "real" info - a flash flood warning in the following 3 counties. In Houston that can cover several hundred square miles. 4) it is an annoyance where the only option is to turn off the television. It should not be this way! Is there a way to fix this?
