LinkedIn is in a different category than your standard website or social site due to the amount of PII. I'm not saying it's right to scan your environment, but as someone with a LinkedIn account I would prefer they tried to protect my data than be lazy about it. You have more to worry about from Adobe's online tracking than LinkedIn checking your installed extension for scrapers.
