I know, but previously, the inlay hints would be displayed at the end of the line in Neovim, making them near useless.

Vim has had inlay hints for a while now, whereas neovim has had it for like 3 days. I think that this is what GP was referring to. Both vim and neovim have LSP support (the former via plugins).
