Where are the podcast apps that allow you to download to /copyable/ MP3 files?

Especially on Android, I've seen this app list dwindle down to nearly zero. There a couple of apps that still allow you to download episodes to mp3, but the current Android file management is such that you can't copy them out afterwards (at least, not easily).

Anyone know of any apps that allow me to specify a download folder of MY choosing?

Thanks.

Doesn't PocketCasts offer that functionality? Download to a specific folder? Not sure what format it downloads in, and it's not searchable by name - the episodes have alphanumeric names, not standard English like "This American Life, Ep 724"

All this is from ages ago and may have changed but IIRC, you specify download folder at least in PocketCasts.

I think (it's been awhile) that Overcast on iOS downloads to a specific folder but those mp3 files can be offloaded using iFuse (in the Software Manager on Linux Mint, for one, with helpful setup instructions in the comments), which enables folder access beyond just DCIM.
