Intel Releases Core Ultra H and U-Series Processors: Meteor Lake (anandtech.com)

I'm really glad they switched to this 'less-confusing' name system than the old confusing i3,i5,i7,i9 system.

It's not less confusing in any way. "Core Ultra 9", "Core Ultra 7", etc. is no better than "Core i9", "Core i7", etc. And that's not even taking into account the not yet launched "Core 7", "Core 5", etc.

They did simplify the nomenclature slightly by unifying the H series and P series mobile product families (which were the same silicon at different power levels), but now you have to read the fine print for each laptop to know whether it's targeting the 64W or 115W maximum CPU turbo limit.

A "Core Ultra 7 155H" is a drastically different and more powerful processor than a "Core Ultra 7 155U".

I figured putting 'less-confusing' in scare quotes might have been enough to signify sarcasm, I guess HN needs /s now.
