I am guessing it wouldn’t be hard for an AI voice generator to impersonate the actor’s voices given the possible sample data available. I’m sure it’s not long before we have completely new AI generated deep faked episodes of beloved TV shows.

Something like Podcast.ai that generates fake interviews between celebrities. There is plenty of Seinfeld audio to train a voice generator.

I'm surprised it isn't using something like https://fakeyou.com/ already.

Thanks for the shout out!

I'm the founder of FakeYou, and there's a reason we've been hiring game engineers and 3D artists for the last year.

We've got a really cool product coming soon. :)

faking a real voice could be construed as fraud unless they have prior permission from the actor. Their likeness cannot just be copied and used. At the very least, trademark infringement?

Then why are impersonators legal?

i suppose impersonators that are caricatures and are obviously impersonators would be legal from fair use?

They're not even using the real names of the characters, so maybe there's some legal issues.

I think they're thinking there might be legal issues, so they alter it just in case. That's what I would do, too.
