Ask HN: When doctor diagnostics will be replaced by AI and open tools?

Will we still need prescriptions or will the medications just be synthesized at home?

You can probably make an argument that a lot of diagnostics have already been replaced by machines. Due to the incentives and systems in place, many doctors function as little more than a rubber-stamp for pills and aren't really able to spend a lot of time working with a patient to uncover their root health issues.

When faced with a health issue, people (and doctors) are searching the web for their symptoms and figuring out which pill is most likely to help. This is subject to whichever search algorithms are used.

And I'm not sure, but I'd speculate that health providers and insurance companies use (or are experimenting) with something like an AI to try and promote the least costly forms of treatment.

How is this related to AI?

it might be decided by AI whether we are allowed to do it or not....
