IMHO the first half of the article could have been written better, to bring the reader up to date with the terminology. But since the meat of the article is in the second half, and since that part is written well, it at least helps the target audience (tech enthusiasts) identify with, and understand the technology better.

We tried to define key terms up front ("resolution", "PPI", and "PPD" are defined in section 1.1), but maybe we're still too far in the weeds! Is there another technical term we're using without definition?
