Black marker really helps to tone down blue LEDs btw.

Did that with the TV in my bedroom. Even the red stand-by led was impossibly bright. It turned out that the remote sensor was located behind the same glass :/

Storing user preferences reliably feels like one of the hardest problems in computer science. Especially if doing so would interfere with the metrics you're trying to grow so relentlessly.

There are extensions around to control this behavior and you can switch to invidious or freetube in worst case
