Show HN: get matched with developers and projects (connectdome.com)

Hey, so I just recently finished YC SUS with this idea, talked to a lot of potential users as well, thought this was something that just needed to be out there.

In brief, ConnectDome helps you match with developers, projects, and ideas.

In detail, ConnectDome provides you with tailored project recommendations, 1:1 AI matches with developers we think you'd love to work with, our aim is to simply enable a lot of developers out there who aren't able to work on their ideas just because they don't have the time to or lack support from other developers.

Our tailored project recommendations help you work on other projects with one huge benefit, you get to be directly in touch with the creator of that project which can be a big advantage for some.

Either way, this is the alpha version that we just launched, and it's free to use right now! :)

Sorry to rain on your parade, but ideas are cheap, what matters is execution, and your site leaves big doubts that you can execute something like this.

The design is one of the ugliest I've ever seen. Judging from your video and sign up page, usability is terrible too.

And you haven't built anything, but already there is a "pricing" section! Focus on building something valuable first, then try to monetize it.

well this was certainly hard to take but I understand what you're saying. We've removed the Pricing btw.

As for usability, I'd honestly like to know better in what ways did you think the usability was terrible. Just saying the usability was terrible is kind of an abstract statement. Thanks for the feedback though, no matter how harsh, always appreciate some feedback :)

Hey, sorry I'm late to this but it's against the Show HN guidelines to rip someone's work to shreds like this. Please read those rules: https://news.ycombinator.com/showhn.html. We don't want an asshole culture on HN, least of all in threads where people are sharing their work. Show HNs are supposed to be a place where people can share early-stage work and get constructive feedback about how to develop it further.

Please read the site guidelines too: https://news.ycombinator.com/newsguidelines.html. Note this one: "Be kind." Note also the guideline against calling names. Don't call names about people's work ("ugliest I've ever seen")—rather, show them specifically what needs improvement and how they might make some improvements. You can and should do that without insults.

Anyone sharing their work is making themselves vulnerable. Keep in mind that however aggressive or unpleasant you think you're being you're almost certainly underestimating it (we all do). It's going to land with readers as 10x more so, and probably 100x more so with the person whose work you're attacking. I'm sure you didn't intend to be mean, but on the internet, it's necessary to disambiguate one's intent: https://hn.algolia.com/?dateRange=all&page=0&prefix=false&so...

Keep in mind also that it's extremely easy for internet forums to degenerate when people post like you did here, because people who don't want to be part of a poisonous culture gradually withdraw, leaving a community of mostly-jerks with nothing interesting to talk about.

Fortunately, there are ways to share all the same relevant information without putdowns. Please do it that way instead, so we can keep HN from becoming a nasty place.
