If you've got the time, the above two videos are a great rundown of the current 'sexual streaming' situation on twitch by one of the first ever professional streamers. He can be a bit edgy at times, and there's swearing in the video if that's not your thing, but he has a solid, well thought-out opinion when it comes to most things. The whole situation is a mess, with crazy misogynist incel types on one side and Twitch on the other just sort of ignoring complaints and being complicit in the mass harassment of some of the women on their platform.
If you want some examples of their inconsistent application of the rules, you could check out many of the things LegendaryLea was given short temporary bans for, then compare it to e.g. the stream IamSSunny was permanently banned for, which was later arbitrarily reduced to a temporary ban - driving home just how inconsistent they are with their own rules.
Mildly NSFW though, so I won't post any direct examples here.
I think the upper class/elite in China are pretty isolated from the rest of the people, and really don't realize how bad a lot of their countrymen have it.
A good friend of mine is from Chengdu and for most of his life he thought he was just average - a guy whose parents sent him to the US for high school, pay ~30,000CAD/semester in tuition, bought him an X3 for his first car, etc.
Not to mention that china probably has internal differences than any other places.
The biggest expensive cities are in league with NYC/SF/London, but there is still a large countryside that is "modest" and vast unpopulated area with noone or villages that are decades behind.
What do you find constraining with 16:9? It's got more wasted space than 4:3 when you're working with a single window I guess, but who seriously works with just one open window?
Maybe I'm having trouble envisioning a modern 4:3 screen, since the only ones I have for reference are a couple old 19" ones I've got lying around but I can't imagine I would comfortably be able to have 3 vertically split files open on a screen e.g.
The main advantage (at least for me) is the physical height of the display. If I sit in front of a laptop I don't want to look _down_, I want to look forward as much as possible. The taller the screen, the more comfortable I can sit. And the T61 with a 4:3 ratio has a higher display than all modern laptops while keeping the size down. I could get a 17" gaming laptop for a similar height but those machines are massive.
As a longtime and current Thinkpad user, the best 4:3 solution on the market today is Apple’s iPad Pro 12” Retina TrueTone + Logitech Create keyboard + Pencil.
There is no technical or supply chain barrier to 4:3 displays, panels are available in quantity on alibaba.
16:9 (or 21:9 even) is fine for large displays that sit on top of a desk but wide aspect ratios don't have the required physical vertical height to be comfortable at laptop sizes.
Gaming headsets are pretty notoriously awful, my dude. When your current set breaks I'd really recommend picking up a pair of Sennheiser HD598s on sale along with a modmic. It shouldn't cost you any more than your current set up (HD598s go on sale for $100, modmic is like $30-40) and it'd absolutely blow any gaming headset out of the water.
Also, the HD598s are easily some of the most comfortable headphones I've ever used, and I have a weird Kevin Durant lookin head - I used to get headaches and pain behind my ears after like 6 hours of wearing my old ATH-M50s but with the HD598s I've gone 12 hours and still felt fine.
The only horrible person in that tweet is the rat messaging her that crap so he can write some clickbait garbage for whatever trash site he works for, tbh. Let's be real - we all say stupid shit while drunk.
Repeated, direct verbal harassment, and inciting a mob of sycophants to follow suit is patently disgusting. He may be technically competent, but he completely lacks social intelligence.
Surely he's made his money at this point - the only thing driving his behavior is narcissism.
What's considered a medium town in Poland? I was checking out housing in my dad's hometown in Serbia, and it's like a shitty agricultural town pretty far from anything notable with a population of ~12,000 and a place was still like $40,000-50,000CAD.
Well, it's probable that no new houses are being built in the place where you were looking for a home. The local community is probably strong too, so not many people are moving away.
I can tell about Novi Sad (250k people, nice university, nice city center etc.), you can indeed get a livable flat for one or two people without kids for anywhere between 20k-35k euro. Though there are still some downsides to living in Serbia.
However, I was born and I still do live here as a freelance software developer (maybe at 30 hours/week, including time for learning new stuff), mostly Rails, nothing fancy, and I can tell that with a family of 4 I'm still saving 75% of my after tax income. Without trying hard to save money. That's what's keeping me from moving westward.
