Have you bought one?

Also curious about the time sinks! Fingers crossed no issues with my services so far. The initial setup was tedious: configuring multiple services with their own configuration intricacies, and having proper backups. I am looking for something that would help reduce the setup toil, maybe something like nix?

Part of it is the fact that I'm using USB storage for my RAID, which is a little finicky. Another part is that I'm using this server as my router as well, which means that when things break I kind of have to fix them immediately, and since my network cards are thunderbolt I have to rely on the finicky Linux thunderbolt support.

For reasons not clear to me, if a system update requires compiling a large thing (e.g. Immich + TritonLLVM), 95% of the time it will break the internal LAN's network interface. I think updating is important (especially for a router), this means that a few times a week I have to babysit the system update to be there to reboot the server manually.

thanks for sharing. been looking for something like this for awhile

The solutions across different BigCorp Clouds varies depending on the SLA from their underlying network. Doing this on top the public internet is very different than on redundant subsea fiber with dedicated BigCorp bandwidth!

Does it follow the protocol properly? I’ve had some chargers that don’t default to the lowest output for dumb usb-c devices

Yes it does. Multimeter on the output shows 5.2 volts

Had a G602 for many years, and then migrated to M720 triathlon. I like the G series ergonomics, but the G604 kept breaking on me. M720 has treated me well so far and support for standard battery cells is very nice.

What broke? You can replace the switches, stock omrons are pretty garbage and it's super common for them to break.

I've replaced the switches in my G604 once, but I don't think I'd do it again. The internal construction is overly complex, so the process took far too long — even though the actual desoldering and soldering was easy. I just wish Logitech would re-release this model with decent silent switches and without the rubber coating.

Just want to plug the M720 some more. That mouse kept me going through years of work/personal computer use.

Support for standard battery cells is seriously underrated! Especially when you are on-the-go and your mouse dies, all you need to do is swap in a fresh rechargeable AA/AAA. No need to deal with a cable or waiting for a recharge.

Agreed. So much so I wonder if they engrave all lab-grown ones, so they don’t get mixed up easily with mined and ruin their price.

If I'm not mistaken, diamonds get etched with a serial number when they get graded so you can look up the history later.
