In Belgium we're at €0,50/kwh We're ordering 36 panels and 10kw battery tomorrow.

The only sad thing is that we can't utlize the battery when we lose netpower. Huawei has an addition, but it only gives an outlet on the battery. I wanted inline, like my ups.

It's happening all over the western world. 50 years ago everything of value happened in the west. Currently there are alot of block on the economy and they only grow.

- people work less hours - education is slipping - lots of imports because we don't have it anymore (outsourced because of lack of cheap labour or environment laws) ...

> It's happening all over the western world.

It's not really happening in the US. The US economy remains strong and may not even go into a significant recession in the next year.

The US dollar remains the world reserve currency and allows unparalleled monetary and fiscal policy freedom. No-one is losing confidence in the dollar the same way they did in the pound.

Inflation is coming down in the US and it's in a fantastic place in terms of energy and food security.

The decline of "the West" you refer to is really the decline of Europe.

True, but how long will the rest of the world accept the USD as universal currency. When they don't the US can't keep printing, so the US will do everything to keep its current position. The 'switch' will be the problem of our generation.

I have been in finance industry for more than 20 years. People have been talking about replacing USD as reserve currency for as long as I can remember. The problem is nothing else is better. EUR? JPY? GBP? CNY? Gold? All of them have more issues compared to USD.

There's currencies now you can trade online that aren't controlled by any one country.

yeah lets back the real world economy with giant ponzi schemes, good thinking chief.

Don't all ISPs do this? They can be stubborn and lose connecting with the rest of the net.

The residential solar which is immediately used by the house, is it counted in this table?

No, and keep in mind the map paints a much rosier picture than reality if you're concerned about climate. Just grid electrity is but a fraction of total energy use, and nearly all other energy is gathered from burning gas, oil and coal.

No

Ordered a founders edition many months ago. I hope to use it one day and add it to my nixos config. If not it'll help the open source community. One thing is certain, the VR/AR I want to use won't come from big tech.

I started 3 days ago It's been hard.

At first I had validation on an email input field after a day all text is put through.. I'll have to look into it next week.

The validation lines are still in de code but don't seem to work. It's probably something stupid.

For now the website is live. I used a single db table for everything. Later I'll do it the proper way. I couldn't find an easy example how to add more complex systems.

I used gen.auth and this comes with multiple tables. I guess there is a way to gen it in ecto. But is there also a gen for a basic liveview crud, which can be changed. This way new users start with something, otherwise you start from a void.

I'm not going petal yet. I'll first try without A. I'll probably have to use it in a month when I have to integrate a js library(Html5-QRCode).

Why would you use google for your domains?

Domains are important(most of the time), I use a registrar which specializes in it. If a company does less than 50% of their revenue in domains, don't use it..

Which one is it? I recently tried to fond an alternative register and was very confused by the offering. Google Domains s product looks and works pretty good

Namecheap has been reliable for me and offers the most responsive support I've had from a registrar.

Cloudflare is also a decent option if you just want a .com

my current favorite is gandi.net. i still have some at namecheap and an anonymous one at njal.la.

I did it yesterday with an apu2e5. I'll continue tinckering today.

Nice! I wrote about my experience as well in case it's useful, https://skogsbrus.xyz/blog/2022/06/12/router

It's a bit long, but the title sections should let you skip to the interesting bits.

Here's the latest code as well: https://github.com/skogsbrus/os

That's what I'm doing

Nixos with natively encrypted zfs mirror.

Next step is impermanence

Have you looked into nix? Works for mac and linux.
