The Replit app with an external keyboard connected also works well.

likely they want to support using Xcode to develop apps on iPad

Does anyone know of a site like this for all apps?

kotlin is a decent choice as well

True. I forgot about the family of languages that will transpile to Javascript. That gives most of them a good web front end story, and of course Kotlin has a good iOS story.

do you have any streams that you'd recommend?

I typically bounce around the twitch category before settling on one. These tend to be smaller streamers who don't have regular hours. One that I try not to miss is Jonathan Blow, though his current project is in a custom engine (written in new language on a custom compiler, even) so it's not immediately relevant to learning about modern game editors.

A bit of a tangent, but I lost quite a bit of respect for Jonathon Blow when he made comments about impostor syndrome:

Interesting you feel that way, I found it comforting.

I think what he said is awesome! You are presuming that others are on the same page as you: I have zero understanding as to why you “lost respect” at all.

Perhaps you could share your own thoughts, opening yourself to criticism and a chance for interaction, and perhaps learning. I wrote a few comments on https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=31990217 (discussing an opaque article titled “The Mysterious Return of Imposter Syndrome”).

The compose APIs for animation are quite nice on Android now

Developers using VSCode are not their community, they are not being adversarial to their own community but maybe a potential future one.

Not too strange if Apple wants a competitive development environment.

Maybe I'll be laughed at, but right now I consider the most competitive Apple's development environment the Swift Playgrounds on iPad.

I just so wish to see this sleek and fast app replacing old cranky Xcode on macOS by adding missing features.

Google's stock Android Messages app has been consistently good for the last few years. Simple interface that doesn't try to do too much - good search functionality and a web client if you'd like to send SMS/RCS from your computer.

I generally like the app, but I find the search to be hit or miss, and it kills me that I cannot search at all in the web client. It would also be trivial for them to coordinate backups of your messages, but this functionality requires a 3rd party app.
