Neuralink mentioned they are looking at advertisements as well. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r-vbh3t7WVI (its somewhere at the end where they answer questions)

We said we were not looking at ads and that ads would never be a part of a business model for people with access to our SDK.

This misrepresents their position - which was that they were patient-first and would NOT be using advertising.

random thought: Can this be why colder countries are doing better than hotter countries, by being forced to stay at home/shelter during winter periods.

Please define what "doing better" means.

Economically.

Look at Europe, the north does significantly better than the south in most cases. The southern countries in my opinion, have far better quality of life.

Indians who are deemed lower caste are converting to Christianity to escape the tag.

Hilarious since Indian versions of Christianity have caste.

Is there similar laws in US as well? if they have done this in EU it might have happened in US too.

I'd be very surprised to see such a fine in the US.

The US used to have fairly strong antitrust enforcement.

Here is an excerpt from [0].

"To get a flavor of how thoroughly the federal government managed competition throughout the economy in the 1960s, consider the case of Brown Shoe Co., Inc. v. United States, in which the Supreme Court blocked a merger that would have given a single distributor a mere 2 percent share of the national shoe market."
