“ The survey reveals that, on average, EVs from the past three model years had 79 percent more problems than conventional cars.”
I’m not really interested how reliable cars are in their first 3 years. I would guess 99% of cars are problem free in the first 3 years. So maybe for ICE there is 1% and for EVs there is 1.79% problem rate that is a very small difference in reality.
I am hungarian and haven't heard of this controversy before. I tried to look it up, it hasn't been in any of the major news sources (yet), except for HVG[1] but they are only referencing an article written in a relatively small online magazine[2].
The only real problem I can see with her speach is that she was asked to give a laudation, but gave a more generic speach instead. Laudation seems to be a custom at this book festival. Also it's kind of funny that she stole the first part of her speach from "rory's graduation speach" in Gilmore Girls TV series[3].
>US and NATO diplomats were crystal clear that after the USSR's fall, the former Soviet states should not be invited into NATO. And later that they should not be invited into the EU.
Do you have a source for this? All I could find was the Warsaw and Budapest pacts. I'm not trying to nitpick. I share the same view but when I explain this to people they alway say these are soviet lies.
One of the things I like to do when I go somewhere new is try to drive (or often cycle) back home without using my phone. I get lost sometimes, but I feel a silly sense of achievement when I make it back home without checking my phone. I enjoy the challange and I also learn a lot about my local area. There are many businesses in my city that I discovered only because I was trying to memorise a route.
The 'Extra Profits Tax' is targeted at the passanger, not the airline. They knew that the airlines will pass on the extra cost to the passanger.
The hungarian government knows that they have overspent in the past years and need to raise additional taxes. So they introduced a flat tax of about €10 (€30 for inter-continental flights) per flight. This achieves many things at the same time:
-The government gets additional income
-Orbán can blame the airlines/multinational companies for cost of living crisis
-Fewer people go on holiday abroad, more money spent at home
Hungary is cheap per more developed countries' standards. The €30 upfront might make some rich tourists choose a different country and stay an extra night.
When I received my TV I took it out of it's box removed 12 screws on the back and unplugged the wifi module. Now I just have it connected to my old laptop running linux with a bluetooth keyboard.
