But I do upvote stuff I like and especially stuff I think is being censored by group think... so that could explain why my flag priviliges where never given or taken away before I could notice it..

The flag link for comments is a little hard to find if you don't already know where it is. If you don't flag things, there's no way your flag privileges could be taken away.

A valid problem this.. I have been in Agra and was pissed off at how simple stuff didn't work.. there seemed to be seemingly simple solutions but the hotel owners/managers either didn't know or it seemed too hard... Similar issues in the trip earlier in the year on a trip via Trivandrum in the southern State..

Depends what your standards are. I stayed in a place in Agra with no windows and unusual plumbing, but on the other hand it was $3 per night. Was particularly amusing when people staying in 5 star accommodation nearby came to check out the view from the rooftop restaurant.

Judging from the link, what OYO is doing well is identifying hotels which are in a mid-range price bracket by local standards which can justify that charge on account of service comparable to a Western budget hotel rather than on account of "deluxe" features that push the price up despite elements of the service, power supply or plumbing.

I would then suggest its best to highlight possible corruption instances rather than pursue them..

that way the corrupt people see it in their interest to pull back rather than increase...

Obviously it needs to be paired with some instances being pursued to its logical conclusions and done so publicly.

Very true.. all depends on who has the leverage..

if the startup has big traction, they have it..

if they are seeking better traction then the VC's have it...

the fact that they chose to decline your request shows that many execs are so used to people putting up with BS... I bet this exec team doesn't make the same mistake again but many will, cause very rarely do SDE ask for a raise.

Even then it's after they have put up with lots of BS and are used to status quo that they rarely ever quit.

if anything SDE are underpaid compared to the skills/competency they give in return..

We don't tell other professionals to take a pay cut cause a whole bunch of people are doing it tough...

exactly, you see this with recruitment.. when a company meets the right candidate they move very fast...

Anytime I did interviews, I had a 24 hr deadline for me to mentally strike out a option. Everytime I got a job, I was contacted almost within an 1-2 hr of doing the interview.

Any delays means they other party has other good options, same applies IMO here as well..

So in this case unless they sign on the dotted line pronto and give a cheque, things are still up in the air
