For the first time? What about Zune, Nokia/Windows Phone, Windows Vista, attacking open source for decades, Scroogled campaign, all the lost Ballmer years, etc. Microsoft has had tons of blunders over time.

Why do you think so? Seems like the space is fiercely competitive, I would expect it to get more expensive.

"In the internal memo, he said that a new reasoning model that OpenAI is planning to release next week is ahead of Google’s latest Gemini model and that the company is still performing well on various other fronts."

The cycle continues. Excited to see what the latest ChatGPT has up its sleeve.

Interesting thought. If that strategy worked too well, I could see the government going after them for monopolistic "bundling"

Google uses TPUs for its internal AI work (training Gemini for example), which surely isn't decreasing in demand or usage as their portfolio and product footprint increases. So I have a feeling they'd be able to put those TPUs to good use?

Very impressive, nano banana pro has this this wrapped up. The other ones look like has-beans.

Curious to hear what other technical products you use that are from companies that are pure as the driven snow.

Don't do this. Don't put words in others mouths. I don't see anywhere where the parent comment said they only use software from perfect companies. They only asserted one company fell below their threshold of trust.

That's really interesting. After cancelling, it goes into retention mode, akin to when one cancels other online services? For example, I cancelled Peacock the other day and it offered a deal of $1.99/mo for 6 months if I stayed.

Very intriguing, curious if others have seen this.

I got this on the dominos pizza app recently. I clicked the bread sticks by mistake and clocked out, and a pop up came up and offered me the bread sticks for $1.99 as well.

So now whenever I get Dominos I click and back out of everything to get any free coupons

It’s retargeting and it happens much more often than you think.

Try the same thing at pretty much any e-commerce store. Works best if you checkout as a guest (using only your email) and get all the way up to payment.

A day later you’ll typically get a discount coupon and an invitation to finish checking out.

Imagine a Beowulf cluster of these
