107,000 people in the US died of drug overdoses in the 2022.

400,000 US service members died in WW2.

I think the problem has become so large we are basically in a state of denial and can't put the size of the problem in the proper context.

Spot on.

I am not sure how people thought this was going to play out though. From 5/30/23 Pew survey

"58% of US adults know ChatGPT; only 14% have used it, with mixed opinions on its utility"

As much as that 42% that hadn't even heard of chatGPT is mind blowing, imagine hearing of chatGPT but not even being curious enough to be bothered.

90% can rot their brains on tiktok while 10% of us become actual cyborgs. We will see how that works out for the 90%.

I was a gamer from Atari 2600 to Saturn. My experience was exactly that once I was bored with Virtua Fighter it felt like nothing good was coming out for it. Even Virtua Fighter while fun didn't stay that fun for very long.

I know I had just got it at New Years 1995/96. It was $399, $790 adjusted for inflation.

It is really one of the worst purchases of my life in terms of the excitement of coming home with it to not playing it a few months after. I had no other games but Virtua Fighter for it and it pretty much ruined my interest in gaming.

Duchamp and not Basquiat in this context is rather dubious to say the least.

Even if there was a web app, why would anyone get excited for a Twitter clone?

This is just such a mind blowing lack of creativity. If I didn't know better I would think this is a type of parody or satire.
