The equivalent in the US is Vint Hill Farms, Virginia. Cold War CIA base used as a listening post primarily, but also to test things like fire suppression and rumored to be a home of Agent Orange. It was an EPA Superfund site (aka so horribly polluted that they needed to do something about it) decided to do nothing and then build a ton of home on and around the heavily contaminated area. I don’t have data but anecdotally cancers here are insanely high in prevalence.
3M lied about the effects of PFAS and firefighting foam polluted their drinking supply. But the terms of the agreement forces the government to defend 3M.
Who knows. What we do know is someone intimately familiar with the data and its potential utility is no longer bound by any prior contractual obligations as to its use. I doubt this will end well, but i am a cynic.

Predictable suite.^_^ Disable the feature in BIOS if possible. Branch prediction is a rotten plank that needs to be scrapped. It's a remarkably bad idea that doesn't deserve to be saved.

I think it is about that. Many of the social behaviors didnt evolve individually, and the social behaviors that end up selected for produced tribes. The group can be more fit than the sum of its parts, and both sides benefit from friendship because two people are about three times as strong working together vs the twice as strong you would expect.
Can't say for USA, but in EU if I want something I can find at least 5 online non-Amazon stores that sell it. Often times they are also cheaper. I refuse to buy anything on Amazon anyway, don't even have an account and I can still get my stuff.
As someone who avoids purchasing anything from Amazon like the plague - B&H is great alternative. I have a set of "shops" that I rotate through depending on the product type:
