Localeur is a curated community of local insiders who want to help you experience local in their city. While review sites lack authenticity and local credibility, and travel guide books go out of date the moment they’re published, Localeur gives you a real look into what it’s like to be a local. If it’s not local, it’s not on Localeur.
Since launching Localeur in 2013, our mission has been to help people experience local wherever they go. We are passionate about helping people feel like they belong and experiencing the true culture of a city, rather than the tourist traps and chains. Quality, authenticity and integrity are paramount to us achieving this mission.
We are looking for a great JavaScript developer who is proficient with React.js. Your primary focus will be on developing user interface components and implementing them following well-known React.js workflows (such as Flux or Redux). You will ensure that these components and the overall application are robust and easy to maintain. You will coordinate with the rest of the team working on different layers of the infrastructure. Therefore, a commitment to collaborative problem solving, sophisticated design and quality product is important.

Cordova is great. I work for an app dev shop. We do both native and hybrid.
If you dont want to mess with building for iOS and Android and XYZ then I would recommend looking into Phonegap. Phonegap uses Cordova to access all of the native apis etc. However what Phonegap does offer thats different is the entire build system. So if you are DIY with Cordova you run all of the build tasks but if you are doing it with Phonegap you can hook up your github repo and they will build for all of the supported platforms for you. No messing with XCode etc.
Frameworks are designed to help you get going quickly. Typically you want to choose one that has good structure and not base it too much off the UI components. The end result should be that you are customizing it to really fit your brand so make sure you are choosing one that will be easy to do that with. The reason being is if you are using Bootstrap or Zurb theres a 90% chance if I visit it I will be able to tell which one it is. That is TERRIBLE! Users can tell when things are just rehashed junk and want a unique branded experience. So I guess to me the best solution is to stop choosing a new one each time but build off of one and slowly deprecate it to make the experience your own branded one. If you want to switch to a new framework test it out on your next project but keep the principles the same.
If you are start working heavily with Javascript this same type of thought will really hold true. You dont want to couple your users experience too much based on one specific framework.
Im with shire...there are tons of great resources out there at a fraction of the cost or FREE. If you already have a college degree I would recommend getting an MBA if education is what you are going for. Other wise if you have $33k burning a hole in your pocket my other two recommendations would be 1) Buy a house or 2) Start a business.
The Capitol Factory would be a good place. They help startups and have a coworking space. They also host most of the Tech meetups in the city. The only thing is they probably arent open this weekend.
Im also a fan of the East side so you can find food trucks there, lots of great bars, and of course live music (White Horse is a must). Check out www.do512.com and you can find some of the fun music happenings around town.
I use to use it but have since switched to Sublime Text 2. Aptana was purchased by http://www.appcelerator.com/ a while back and at that point I figured it was moving towards its end. However it looks like there have been bug fixes as recent as January https://jira.appcelerator.org/browse/APSTUD-7638 but thats almost 6 months ago. There may be newer tasks in their jira but I just saw this on the main page.
